Profiles
Profiles allow grouping files and folders for processing them later. This enables you to process the same set of files and folders simply by opening a previously saved profile without the need to select again each item manually.
Creating a new profile
To create a new profile, select Profile > Save as.
Note
To create a profile, at least one item must be added to the items list.
Opening a profile
To open a previously saved profile, select Profile > Open profile. This command closes the current
profile, if one is open. If the current open profile has been modified, you are prompted to save the profile before
closing. You can change this behavior in the settings of WinContig.
In the Open profile dialog, the Behavior box allows you to choose how
to manage the opening of the profile. You can select one of the following options:
Option | Description |
---|---|
Replace the items in the list | The contents of the profile will replace the existing items in the items list. |
Add to the items in the list | The contents of the profile will be added to the existing items in the items list. |
You can also open a previously saved profile from the Recent profile list on the toolbar. You can customize this list in the settings of WinContig.
If the profile being opened contains one or more items that it is not possible to import (for example, because the items have been deleted), WinContig will display a warning dialog.
Saving a profile
To save the current open profile, select Profile > Save.
Note
The Save profile command displays the Save profile as dialog if this is the first time the profile is being saved.
Closing a profile
To close the current open profile without exiting the program, select Profile > Close. If the current profile has been modified, you are prompted to save the profile before closing. You can change this behavior in the settings of WinContig.
